Bad Hair Day

As can be expected with Spring and three dogs in the house, shedding had become a major problem. Callie was especially bad. I am not sure if it is because she is a true Australian Sheppard and that is just what they do, or if she was shedding her baby hair or what. Regardless of the reason, the hair was out of control.

5 minutes after vacuuming the house there would be new clumps of fine blonde hair everywhere. The female gene in this family that obsesses over cleanliness and causes you to do things like scrubbing walls just because it is Thursday skipped right over me, so something had to be done.

We take Dakota to the groomer every year and have her sheered, not so much because she sheds but more to try and make her more comfortable on the 100+ degree days that she has to spend outside.

I suggested to Trent that we do the same for Callie, or he start vacuuming the house hourly - his call. He opted to take her to the groomer on Tuesday.

Words cannot describe the dog he brought home. She looks ridiculous. Rather than a fluffy, flowing, beautiful red and blonde Sheppard, she looks like a two foot tall version of the Taco Bell Chihuahua. Trent consoles her by telling her I made him do it.

Not wanting my photo taken at 9 months pregnant, I can empathize with her seeking shelter when the camera comes out. Hide under the covers girl, you will be back to normal soon!
