Ryder and the dogs are coexisting, but that is about it. He calls Dakota "koto" and Callie "dawg". He wants to love them so much, and while Callie is better about it she still isn't his best friend.
So you do what you have to do to get the kid a friendly dog ...
At least this one doesn't lick his face.

The shoes make the outfit
He gets his fashion sense from his father ...
Footy pajamas and barn shoes. Quite the fashion statement.

Bathcapades
This is what goes on in real life when I try to take photos. He gets the posing from me.
Tailgating
If he is anything like his parents, there is no telling how many hours will be spent sitting on a tailgate or dancing in a truck bed over the course of his years.
It is good to know that he is practicing these skills early and often.

a cowboy and his hat
Ryder is a dancing fool ... until I get out the video camera. I wouldn't think he would be shy at this age, but he is adamantly opposed to me recording his dancing. At least I got him in his hat.

These shoes were made for ...
Ryder is obsessed with shoes. I think it is because he always wants to go outside (there is a possibility of cows being there!) and shoes are a prerequisite. It doesn't matter if they are rain boots or sandals, mine or Trent's, the kid loves shoes.

Fun visit with Gramma Jill
Oh sure they had fun, but I still haven't figured out where some of my desktop icons are. He likes looking at images of cows and listening to animal songs on You Tube ... when I walked in they were watching Bon Jovi and she was doing her best to convince him that this was much better than some silly song about cows.
Eventually he won her over, because for the next 4 hours, it was nothing but "the cow goes moo, moo, moo, moo".
Gramma's nose and eyes might never been the same, but she survived and they were best buds when it was all over!
Thanks for visiting Gramma Jill, we love you!! Come back soon!
Eventually he won her over, because for the next 4 hours, it was nothing but "the cow goes moo, moo, moo, moo".
They decided to do a little coloring, and it was actually Gramma's idea to do it on the floor. I don't think Gramma planned to have to get down there with him, but she was a real trooper and her OCD didn't seem to mind when he wanted to color Rudolph (and everything else) blue.
Gramma had to sit (repeated nearly 1000 times) on top of the toy box and read the book to Ryder. This would have been easier with her glasses on.
Oh wait, thought Ryder. I can help with that! You do it like this Gramma ...

Two Man Band
I would like to send a big shout out to Aunt Crystie and Uncle Kevin, Cooper and Konner for the Drum and Gramma Jill for the Xylophone. May your generosity be visited back on you ten-fold in the new year.
