Today you are 13 months old. You now can safely play with any toys labeled 1+ without fear. You are a toddler, and as you remind me daily with that finger pointed in my face and shaking your head side to side, you are getting to be a big boy. You no longer want people reading about the size of your diapers or your sleeping habits. You are content to keep your favorite foods and shoe size among family and off the internet. The day is going to come when your wife will look back on this and use it against you as being a mama's boy. Mama does not need to fuel that fire.
Mama will continue to write you each month and post some of her favorite pictures from that month with captions rather than the letter like it has been for the first 12 months. I am sure you will not mind.
You love to help with the laundry, and by help I mostly mean pull all the clean clothes out of the dryer and throw them on the dirty floor. We are still working on your folding skills, but already you are better than daddy.
You became a forward facing Ryder (ha!) in daddy's pick-up this month. You seem to like the view much better but you still are quick to fall asleep as soon as a vehicle starts moving.
You love wagon rides in the wagon you got for your birthday. We put miles on the tires both in the house and around the backyard. You like sitting in it, and pushing it - but I am holding out for the day when you walk well enough to pull mommy and daddy in it.
You and Daddy in your matching shorts on your birthday.
You started taking baths in the big bathtub this month and you think you are such hot stuff. You get so excited when we start running the water and you can hardly contain yourself.
You cuddle up with dad in the morning if you two are sleepy and mom is trying to get some work done around the house.
This is you and daddy on Father's Day. You robbed your piggy bank and got him all kinds of goodies for being a super great daddy.
You still love a ball more than any other toy in the collection (now that the birthday balloon has lost its air).
You got a John Deere four wheeler for your Birthday from mom and dad.
You love to ride the mower with daddy. When you see or hear him go by the window, you will scream and beat on the window until I take you out to ride on it. In this particular photo you wanted to wear mommy's head band as a sweat band (it was 105 degrees). I think you have a certain Jane Fonda look about you.
You started walking on your own this month. Sure you are still a little wobbly, but you are doing so great. It is so fun to watch you learn new things every day. You are truly amazing.
I love you to the moon and back!
Mama
